Dr Michael L Roberts, FRSB founded Chromatin Bioscience in 2022
He was formerly the Chief Technology Officer (Europe) of AskBio (acquired by Bayer in 2020) and Founder of Synpromics.
Dr Roberts founded Synpromics in 2010, building it into the world’s leading “gene control” company operating in the cell and gene therapy industry. Synpromics pioneered the industrialisation of synthetic promoter design and was acquired by AskBio in 2019.
He is a prominent scientist in the field of gene regulation, awarded his PhD from the University of Cambridge and spent three decades researching gene regulation and viral / non-viral gene expression vector design in the private and academic sectors.
He has
extensive experience in the biotech industry, having held various board and senior leadership positions for nearly two decades. He has substantial fundraising and business development expertise and a detailed understanding of licensing & IP.
